About Inge Heimensen I am a Dutch photographer based in Sweden, shaped by a lifelong fascination for colour, form and quiet storytelling. Creativity has always been a natural part of me — even as a child I was drawn to composition, atmosphere and the small details that give an image its meaning. |

I studied advertising and display design in the Netherlands and worked as a window stylist and layout designer, where I developed a strong sense of visual balance, light and composition. My love for animals has also influenced my path; I have worked as a veterinary assistant and dog groomer, and I have long experience with horses — something that has taught me patience, empathy and an intuitive understanding of body language, both human and animal. I create to feel, to process and to tell. Photography has become both an artistic practice and a personal journey — a way to understand myself and others through the work I create. Through my images, I explore identity, transformation and the quiet emotions that often remain unspoken. Today, these experiences come together in conceptual fine art photography that blends surrealism, symbolism and carefully constructed narratives. I create layered images that invite the viewer to slow down and look deeper — to discover meaning in a world shaped by speed and sameness. My work is characterised by carefully staged, vintage-inspired imagery with symbolic elements, intentional styling and a quiet, cinematic tone. My work has received several international awards, including 1st, 2nd and 3rd place in the Legacy Photography Awards, and I was a finalist in the Swedish Championships in Portrait Photography 2025. I set the bar high for myself, both in commissioned work and in competition, always striving to refine my craft and deepen the emotional and visual impact of my images. I work from my 19th-century cottage outside Ljungby, where vintage aesthetics, craftsmanship and storytelling shape my creative process.
